PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interference source retrieval method, with which a frequency source that becomes a cause for beats, can be easily found out. SOLUTION: In a method for specifying a physical phenomenon (X) which is the source of interference when there are (n) (n≥2) physical phenomena (X), each having a known characteristic frequency and a physical phenomenon (Y) having a frequency B<SB>Y</SB>[Hz] is incurred by the interference of their characteristic frequencies A<SB>1</SB>, A<SB>2</SB>, A<SB>3</SB>, A<SB>4</SB>, ..., A<SB>n</SB>[Hz], when the characteristic frequency of each physical phenomenon (X) is defined as B<SB>X</SB><SB>(characteristic frequency-characteristic frequency)</SB>= ¾C<SB>1</SB>×A<SB>k</SB>-C<SB>2</SB>×A<SB>p</SB>¾(1≤k≤n, 1≤p≤n, C<SB>1</SB>and C<SB>2</SB>are integers), a predetermined error range E is designated, so that the combination of characteristic frequencies A<SB>k</SB>, A<SB>p</SB>satisfying the condition ¾B<SB>Y</SB>-B<SB>X</SB><SB>(characteristic frequency-characteristic frequency)</SB>¾≤E is retrieved from the characteristic frequencies A<SB>1</SB>, A<SB>2</SB>, A<SB>3</SB>, A<SB>4</SB>, ..., A<SB>n</SB>[Hz] of the (n) physical phenomena (X).
