<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external power transmission mechanism for an electromagnetic clutch with increased mechanical strength. <P>SOLUTION: This device is provided with a gear 12 formed of resin, and having a recess on which a gear reinforcement member 14 is installed, and the gear reinforcement member 14 having a projection 14a to be inserted into a window provided in an armature, and formed of aluminum as non-magnetic material having larger mechanical strength than resin forming the gear 12. The gear reinforcement member 14 is installed onto the recess 12a in the gear 12 to compose the device. In this case, a hook is provided on the gear 12 to fix and hold the gear reinforcement member 14.
