<p>An implantable medical device (10) having a case (38) with therapeutic componentry contained with the case (38). A module (54) has a rail (104) around at least a portion of a perimeter of the module (54) and is adapted to be mechanically secured to the case (38). The case (38) has a rigid fastening channel (102) adapted to receive the rail (104) of the module (54). The rigid fastening channel (102) has an opening (108) allowing the rail (104) of the module (54) to drop into the rigid fastening channel (102) through the opening (108) and then slide along the rigid fastening channel (102) to be mechanically secured to the case (38).</p>
