PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jet device capable of suppressing an operation sound of an air compressor to be small during the pressurizing, and a method for supplying a liquid. SOLUTION: This liquid jet device comprises a liquid jet head having a liquid jet section for ejecting a liquid toward a medium and a liquid container communicating with the liquid jet head so as to supply a liquid thereto. The liquid jet device supplies the liquid filled in the liquid container by a pressure of an air transferred from the air compressor to the liquid container. The air compressor has a reciprocable section for compressing an air by the reciprocation movement, a drive motor for reciprocating the reciprocable section, and a power input section for inputting a power to the drive motor until the pressure in the liquid container reaches a predetermined level.
