PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blower by which dust in gas can be surely captured with a simple structure and which can be continuously operated for a long time and to provide an exhaust gas treatment apparatus using the blower. SOLUTION: The blower for removing dust comprises a fan 14 the tip of which is in contact with a liquid surface W1. When a motor 16 is activated to rotate the fan 14, a liquid W stored in the bottom portion of a casing 12 is scooped up by the fan 14. Droplets are generated from the scooped up liquid W by the centrifugal force resulting from the rotation of the fan 14. The droplets are then made to collide against the inner wall of the casing 12, the liquid surface W1, and the like. Subsequently, the droplets are further subdivided so that mist is generated within the casing 12. Hence, dust sucked together with a gas A into an air inlet 18 is brought into gas-liquid contact with these droplets and the mist and then absorbed by the liquid W. Furthermore, during the operation of a blower 10, the fan 14 is always washed with the droplets and the mist, there is no concern about lowering of blow efficiency due to deposition/accumulation of dust on the fan 14.
