PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly and efficiently perform data duplication while maintaining data consistency in a data processing system having a plurality of storage systems, and when a fault is generated in a constitutional element, to shorten time required for restarting data duplication. SOLUTION: A storage system (100A) updates DATA1 which is data to be duplicated on the basis of an instruction from a host computer and performs journal preparation (JNL1), the updating of DATA2 which is duplicated data in a storage system (100B) and journal preparation (JNL2). A storage system C (100C) acquires a journal (JNL3) from the storage system B (100B) asynchronously with the updating and updates COPY1 which is duplicated data. When a fault is generated in the storage system B (100B), a journal acquisition destination is changed to the storage system A (100A) and the COPY1 is updated by the acquired journal.
