The keyboard video mouse, KVM, switching devices [100] are interconnected and each one has a control stage with a CPU and communication link to two interfaces [114,112] coupled to local computers [152,154]. The control stage connects with packet coding units [122,124] providing input to a network protocol unit [130] coupled to other KVM units.
