<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating device and a coating method as well as a production method for a member for a display using the device and the method, which can easily produce to a maximum extent a coating film having a high film thickness distribution precision on a member to be coated by providing a means which can minutely adjust film thickness profiles of the coating film at a position where the coating begins and at a position where the coating ends in order to minimize a defective film thickness section not reaching a target film thickness precision which is generated at the position where the coating begins and at the position where the coating ends. <P>SOLUTION: In the coating method, a coater having a delivery port extended in one direction is allowed to come close to the member to be coated, a coating liquid of a volume Qp is delivered from the coater after the coater and the member to be coated stop moving so that beads are formed between the delivery port of the coater and the member to be coated, thereafter, the coating liquid is delivered on the member to be coated from the coater and the member to be coated is moved relatively to the coater so that the coating film is formed on the member to be coated.
