<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the brightness of emitted light of a light emitting apparatus including a light emitting element and a fluorecent substance. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting apparatus includes the light emitting element and the fluorescent substance for absorbing at least a part of light from the light emitting element, and for emitting light having a different wavelength. The fluorescent substance is an alkali earth metal oxide fluorescent substance containing at least one kind of element selected from a group consisted of Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, and Zn, and Ce. More concretely, the fluorescent substance is an alkali earth metal oxide fluorescent substance represented by a general formula: (Ca<SB>1-x-y</SB>M<SB>x</SB>Ce<SB>y</SB>)O<SB>1+1/2y</SB>. Herein, M indicates at least one kind of element selected from a group consisted of Mg, Sr, Ba, and Zn, and x and y satisfy a numeral of 0≤x≤0.8 and 0.0001≤y≤0.8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
