PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the dispersion of a position where a detected means is detected by a detecting means according to change in the space between the detecting means and the detected means by a simple structure. SOLUTION: The position detector comprises a proximity switch 2 having an oscillating circuit 5 including a coil 3, and a detection object 8 to be detected by the proximity switch 2, having a resonance circuit including a coil 9. Preferably, this detector comprises a first proximity switch 2, a first detection object 8, a second detection switch 2' and a second detection object 8' so that the second detection object 8' is detected by the second proximity switch 2' when the first detection object 8 is detected by the first proximity switch 2.
