PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tripod constant velocity universal joint having improved NVH property and durability. SOLUTION: Raceway grooves 3, 8 are provided on both sides of a guide block 6 supported on a leg shaft 5 of a tripod member 4 and on the side face of an outer ring track groove 2. A cage 10 holds a plurality of balls 9 incorporated between the raceway grooves 3, 8. A ball contact ratio r<SB>1</SB>/r<SB>0</SB>is in a range of 1.008-1.100 for improving the NVH property and durability, where r<SB>1</SB>is the curvature of radius of each of ball rolling surfaces 3a, 8a of the raceway grooves 3, 8 and r<SB>0</SB>is the radius of the ball 9.
