PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video coding / decoding technology suitable for a video technology or the like capable of revising a viewpoint position and a sight line direction.

SOLUTION: A video coding method disclosed herein executes: an inter-GOP prediction coding step of coding a present image in present GOPs by using image information of an image included in other GOPs for reference information and in order to configure a plurality of images by a plurality of GOPs and carry out processing of coding the images as one video image; and a reference GOP coding step for coding information to designate the GOPs including the reference image in use. Accordingly, the video decoding method executes: an inter-GOP prediction decoding step of decoding the present image in the present GOP by using image information of the image included in the other GOPs as reference image; and a reference GOP decoding step of decoding information to designate the GOPs including the reference image in use.
