PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas cock capable of preventing a sliding face from sticking due to thermal expansion of a gas cock main body and a cock body by the heat in fire breaking. SOLUTION: In this gas cock composed of the gas cock main body 1 and the cock body 2 made out of iron, the sliding face 3 of the gas cock main body 1 and the cock body 2 is provided with a metallic outer envelop 10 having a melting point lower than that of iron. By mounting the metallic outer envelop having the melting point lower than that of iron on the sliding face 3, the outer envelop 10 is softened by being heated at about 800°C in fire breaking and the like, and absorbs the thermal expansion of the gas cock main body 1 and the cock 2, thus the seizure of the sliding face 3 can be prevented by the absorbing action.
