PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire tension detector capable of damping the vibration of an arm of a tension detecting part caused by an irregular wire feed to prevent a wire from coming off out of a pulley. SOLUTION: In this wire tension detector, a conductive disk 1 is fixed onto a turning shaft 4, and a magnet 11 arranged to sandwich the disk 10 between a pair of opposed magnetic poles is provided to damp the vibration of the arm 1.
