PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic mail transmitting/receiving system in which electronic mail is received only when a recipient requests it, transfer of unwanted mail via a network is prevented, CPU resources can be prevented from being unnecessarily consumed by a mail transmitting server, and an external storage device can be prevented from being unnecessarily consumed by a mail receiving server. SOLUTION: A mail transmitting server to which transmission of electronic mail is requested, temporarily stores text of the electronic mail in an external storage device and transmits only a mail ID, a sender and a title of the case for identifying the mail. A mail recipient requests the text of the mail to the mail transmitting server only for electronic mail desired to read the text by himself. The mail receiving server acquires the text of the mail from the mail transmitting server in response to the request of the text and sends the text to the mail recipient.
