PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductor temperature estimation method capable of estimating accurately the cable conductor temperature in spite of a small amount of measured data and a small amount of calculation. SOLUTION: The relation among the conductor temperature of a power cable, a conductor generated heat quantity and the peripheral temperature of the cable is expressed by the first relational expression including an unknown function, and the relation among the space temperature of a center space enclosed by a plurality of unit cables, the conductor generated heat quantity and the peripheral temperature is expressed by the second relational expression including an unknown function. Unknown constants constituting the unknown functions in both relational expressions are estimated so that the conductor temperature and the space temperature determined from the first and second relational expressions agree with calculation results of the conductor temperature and the space temperature by numerical analysis when the conductor generated heat quantity and the peripheral temperature are given stepwise beforehand. The conductor generated heat quantity and the peripheral temperature changing with time are approximated by a step function, and the conductor temperature at the present time is estimated by using both relational expressions including the estimated unknown functions.
