A structure is reinforced internally with a honeycomb layer (3') and has outer layers bonded to it under heat, e.g. 200 [deg]C, and pressure. The outer layers consist of random laid non-wovens of synthetic fibers, which are needle punched only on the side away from the honeycomb, preferably at no more than 60 stitches/cm 2>. The honeycomb can be shaped to produce compact regions (20). An independent claim is also included for the process of producing such a structure including the omission of needle punching on the side of the non-woven facing the honeycomb, so that the loose fibers penetrate the open honeycomb chambers (2) and improve the thermoplastic bond.
|
