PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera in which film is easily and surely loaded with simple constitution by controlling the phase of a sprocket so that the projecting amount of the tooth of the sprocket projecting from the surface of a guide rail may be minimum. SOLUTION: A lock member 52 is rocked between a release position and a lock position interlocked with the opening/closing of a back cover. When the lock member 52 is rocked from the release position to the lock position, the teeth 36A to 36E of the sprocket 36 are engaged with the lock member 52 in the rocking process, so that the sprocket 36 is rotated, and stopped at the position where the projecting amount of the tooth from the surface of the guide rail 24 is minimum.
