A cover (1) dimensioned to cover the transparent area of the roof, is mounted between two longitudinal tracks (2) that extend along the length of the sides of the vehicle roof. The cover has a panel (3) with fixed transoms (5-7) whose ends are provided with sliding shoes that are coupled to tracks. The front-end of transom (5) supports hinged sun visors and a central mechanism (10) controls the movement of the cover (1).
