<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a warming-up method of an internal combustion engine which promotes the warming-up of the internal combustion engine by using CO<SB>2</SB>emitted from a CO<SB>2</SB>absorption/emission material. <P>SOLUTION: The warming-up method is applied to the internal combustion engine 1 including the CO<SB>2</SB>absorption/emission material 15 which is so arranged that it can absorb CO<SB>2</SB>in the exhaust gas. The CO<SB>2</SB>absorption/emission material 15 absorbs CO<SB>2</SB>in a first region of temperature and emits CO<SB>2</SB>in a second region of temperature higher than the first temperature region. By increasing the temperature of the CO<SB>2</SB>absorption/emission material to the second temperature region, the CO<SB>2</SB>emitted from the CO<SB>2</SB>absorption/emission material is supplied to a component part of the internal combustion engine such as an intake manifold 3a or an exhaust clean-up catalyst 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
