<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-safety image forming apparatus capable of removing a jammed sheet easily. <P>SOLUTION: Disposed inside and near the left side face 2b of a main body housing 2 are: the fixing unit 12 of an image forming means; a directing claw 18 which directs sheets from the fixing unit 12 to a sheet conveyance path K1 leading to a sheet ejection space 2d or a sheet conveyance path K2 that is different from the path K1; and a pair of ejection rollers 13, upper and lower, by which the sheet directed to the sheet conveyance path K1 by the directing claw 18 is delivered into the sheet ejection space 2d. The left side face 2b is provided with an opening/closing cover 19 that can be opened or closed relative to the left side face 2b of the main body housing 2, having its lower end as its axis, and that uncovers the sheet conveyance path K1 from the fixing unit 12 to the pair of ejection rollers 13 when opened.
