<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor not generating self-excited vibration of an suction valve when the compressor is operated at small displacement. <P>SOLUTION: This compressor is provided with a cylinder block 1 having a cylinder bore 5, a piston 12 reciprocating in the cylinder bore, a valve plate 16 having a suction port 16a leading fluid to be compressed into the cylinder bore and a delivery port 16b leading fluid to be compressed in the cylinder bore out of the cylinder bore, a belt shape suction valve 17 opening and closing the suction port, and a belt shape delivery valve 18 opening and closing the delivery port, and has a suction valve opening regulation recess part 5a having a bottom surface 5a' on which a suction valve tip part abuts when the suction valve open formed on an one end circumference wall facing the suction valve of the cylinder bore.
