PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil-containing waste water treatment apparatus suited to a new method for separating oil-containing waste water of oil-in-water type emulsion containing highly concentrated oil by floe formation, using only a cation-based polymer coagulator. SOLUTION: This apparatus for treating oil-containing waste water containing highly concentrated oil, is provided with a coagulation tank 12, a scum surfacing separator 14, a scum slurrying tank 16, a scum storage tank 18, and an oil-water separation tank 22. The coagulation tank 12 can react to form oil-containing scum available for sending in one or two steps. The scum surfacing separator 14 can scrape and collect the oil-containing scum surfaced and separated from slurry containing the oil-containing scum for recovering. The scum slurrying tank 16 slurries the recovered oil-containing scum for transferring by crushing the recovered oil-containing scum. The scum storage tank 18 and oil-water separation tank 32 separate and recover oil in slurried scum and in separated liquid generated in scum dewatering. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
