PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that the shape of a transceiver which uses an optical module using an optical receptacle is generally standardized, but required space for an electric circuit is increased when the modulation speed to be added to a semiconductor laser is increased, i.e., the length of the optical receptacle must be reduced to secure the space of the electric circuit and moreover, the total length is increased due to the structure for arranging an optical isolator at the end face of a fiber stub for the case of an optical receptacle having the optical isolator. SOLUTION: The optical receptacle having the optical isolator is provided with an optical isolator 9 which is constituted by pasting together the optical surfaces of polarizers 6a and 6b and a Faraday rotator 7 and a sleeve 3 in which a plug ferrule 2 for an optical connector is held from the opening of one side and the other side is inserted and fixed to the opening of a through-hole 40 formed on a holder 4. The opening of the through-hole 40 formed on the holder 4 is closed by a plate shaped body 10 through which light beams are transmissive. The tip of the plug ferrule 2 is abutted on the surface of one side of the plate shaped body 10 and the optical surface of the optical isolator 9 is joined and fixed to the surface of the other side of the plate shaped body 10.
