PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the fluidity index of a powder without taking time and labor. SOLUTION: A neural network model for prescribing the causal sequence between the fundamental physical properties and fluidy index of the powder is constructed on the basis of the actually measured data of the fundamental physical properties and fluidy index of the powder. The fundamental physical properties of the powder include at least the particle size distribution of the powder, particle density, liquid content and the particle size distribution of suspended particles being the particles of the powder suspended in a liquid. By inputting the fundamental physical properties of the powder to the constructed neural network model, the fluidity index of the powder is estimated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
