<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus suppressing defects in picture qualities at a low cost with respect to the image forming apparatus such as a copying machine, a printer and a facsimile which form an image by using an electrophotographic method. <P>SOLUTION: The charge distribution of ≥5,000 toner particles is measured by a charge spectrograph method, and the distance of the point where 100 to 500 toner particles are present per 1 mm<SP>2</SP>from the origin is defined as the maximum. The maximum St in the charge distribution of toner particles in a toner image formed on an image carrier 11, the maximum Dt in the charge distribution of toner particles just prior to be supplied to a mixing chamber 143 by a toner supply means 141, 142, 1421, and the maximum Pt in the charge distribution of toner particles carried by a developer carrier 145 satisfy all of ¾8 mm¾<¾St¾≤¾15 mm¾, ¾5 mm¾<¾Dt¾ and 0.9<¾St¾/¾Pt¾<1.1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
