PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous dispersion for forming a non-PVC-based highly foamed coating film that is excellent in water resistance, cushionability, blocking resistance, etc. and suitable as a surface layer for wall paper or the like. SOLUTION: The aqueous dispersion for foamed coating film contains (A) an ethylene-(meth)acrylic acid copolymer containing 5-30 wt.% of (meth)acrylic acid component, (B) a foaming agent and (C) a viscosity modifier. This aqueous dispersion contains, based on the carboxy groups in the copolymer A,≥20 mol% of cation selected from alkali metal ion, ammonium ion and monoamine ion. In this aqueous dispersion, the mean particle size of solids based on the copolymer A is 1-1,000 nm and the solid concentration is 5-50 wt.%. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
