PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly heat a heated object by quickly giving a great amount of steam heat to the heated object while avoiding an increase in the size and power demand of equipment. SOLUTION: This steam cooker has an upper blow hole 43 as a steam jet in the center of a ceiling surface 20e of a heating chamber 20. In the upper part of a face (a back face 20b, e.g.) suspended down from the ceiling surface 20e of the heating chamber 20, a suction port 28 is provided as a steam inlet. Steam is jetted downward from the upper blow port 43 to the heated object in the heating chamber 20, and it collides with the heated object and flows along the upper face of the heated object while spreading sideways. Thus, the great amount of steam heat is quickly given to the heated object. The steam lighter than air moves up after colliding with the heated object. The naturally moving-up steam can be reasonably sucked by the suction port 28 without using a fan having high suction performance, e.g. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
