PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably read the image of an object by miniaturizing the composition of a reading part using a one-dimensional imaging element. SOLUTION: A light source 21 and a one-dimensional imaging element 24 are arranged at a position where they are linearly symmetrical to each other so that the irradiation light axis of the light irradiated from the light source 21 to a reading transparent plate 30 and the imaging optical axis of the one-dimensional imaging element 24 which introduces the light, which is irradiated from the light source 21 and reflected in the reading transparent plate 30, may form an angle, which is smaller than all the reflection angles on a reading surface, to the normal line of the reading surface.
