PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a product design assisting system and a method for it capable of checking a manufacturing condition in product designing for designing a product surely satisfying the manufacturing condition. SOLUTION: This product design assisting system that assists product desige is provided with a shape setting means receiving input about a product shape, a manufacturing condition setting means setting the manufacturing condition of the product, a production determining means determining whether the product with the set shape can be manufactured in the set manufacturing condition or not, and a notification means notifying that the product cannot be manufactured in the set manufacturing condition when it is determined that the product cannot be manufactured in the set manufacturing condition.
