<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an appearance of a console box furnished on a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A lid 41 covering an opening part 23 of a container part 24 is supported by a hinge mechanism 42. The hinge mechanism 42 is made by a multi-ring 56 with two rotating shafts 51c and 52c. By this hinge mechanism 42, a sideward projection when the lid 41 is opened is decreased. The hinge mechanism 42 is covered by the cover 43, and even when the lid 41 is opened, a complicated hinge mechanism is not visible from a crew.
