An image processing method includes: a step for calculating the number of pixels for each of predetermined color sections in the color system having no singular point for a specific image and generating a histogram; a step for detecting a local peak where the counted number of pixels becomes maximum in the histogram generated and deciding the local peak color value as a color value corresponding to the local peak; and a step for specifying the pixel in a particular image according to the decided local peak color value. Thus, it is possible to appropriately decide a local peak color value not affected whether the color is achromatic or chromatic.
