SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRINTING ONTO SUBSTRATE USING REACTIVE INK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system capable of printing two reactants e.g., a reactive ink and a fixer from the same printhead onto a medium e.g., paper while minimizing the mixing on the printhead of the reactants and possible clogging of the printhead.

SOLUTION: Disclosed herein are methods and systems for printing a reactive ink and a fixer or a second reactive ink onto a substrate from a single orifice plate (12). The reactive ink(s) and the fixer react to form a precipitate which is soluble in at least one of the fixer or the ink(s).
