Sports board manufacturing procedure uses foam core blank thermoformed and compressed before covering with outer skin

The procedure consists of making a blank for a rigid or thermoplastic foam core (24) which is thermoformed and compressed to create zones with different densities before covering with an outer skin (26). The thermoforming/compression stage produces zones with densities that differ by at least 20 per cent from the original blank, with the peripheral zone having a greater density, especially in the foot support area.
