PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyketone having imparted polarity suitable for separation of an organism-related material, and industrially usable melt-formability without complicating production process in the modification of the polyketone constituted of an ethylenically unsaturated compound and carbon monoxide. SOLUTION: The polyketone derivative has 0.01-20 dL/g intrinsic viscosity and is obtained by reacting the ethylenically unsaturated compound, the carbon monoxide and a polyalkylene glycol. The polyketone derivative is useful as a raw material for various kinds of separation membrane application, especially for a separation membrane of the organism-related material such as exemplified by hemodialysis because of having proper polarity and extremely superior balance of hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity. The polyketone derivative hardly causing one-sidedness/separation of each polymer component at melt molding can stably be melt-formed by the improvement of slipperiness caused by the polyalkylene glycol, and can be developed in various kinds of application.
