<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive electrode for a fuel cell capable of being thinned without forming a catalyst layer, and to provide a fuel cell using it. <P>SOLUTION: This electrode 3 for a fuel cell is formed with at least a conductive polymer gel containing water as a main constituent, and containing a conductive conjugate polymer, a surface-active agent and/or alcohol.
