PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption unprecedentedly in an electronic device such as a data recorder. SOLUTION: The electronic device, which switches back to a standby state after the operating state switches from a standby state to a processing state and a processing circuit 6 finishes a predetermined processing action under the central control of a CPU 5, comprises an internal battery 1, a timekeeping IC 2 for continuously measuring time under power continuously supplied from the internal battery 1 and, when a time for a predetermined action is reached, outputting a start signal, and a power IC 3 for, upon the start signal, starting to supply power continuously supplied from the internal battery 1 to the CPU 5 and the processing circuit 6 to switch the operating state from a standby state to a processing state.
