PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a locking device, accurately limiting the holding force and causing slippage as planned in a rod without damage of the locking device in the case of overload, and without plastic deformation of especially important parts. SOLUTION: In this locking device, a clamp member 3 is slid in an outer ring 4 having a conical inner periphery corresponding to the clamp member 3 having a conical outer periphery, and when the clamp member is moved together in the load direction by the rod 2, the device presses it like self-amplification to the rod 2. The outer ring 4 is slidable in the axial direction in a housing 1, and pre-stressed by a spring 9 against the load direction. The pre-stressing force of the first spring 9 is set so that a shift of the outer ring 4 does not occur until a preset load in the rod 2 is exceeded. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
