<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a much thinner and lighter picture display device which includes two liquid crystal panels, that is, a liquid crystal panel for displaying a picture and a liquid crystal panel for switching and is capable of selecting three-dimensional picture display or two-dimensional picture display. <P>SOLUTION: The picture display device includes: a liquid crystal panel for picture display 10; and a liquid crystal panel for switching 20 where a parallax barrier can be formed or erased. A transparent electrode substrate 12 on a side opposite to the observation surface side of the panel 10, for example, is used in common as one of the transparent electrode substrates of the panel 20, and an inner surface polarizing plate 16a is formed on the inner surface of the substrate 12 on the panel 20 side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
