PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the use of an expensive reactor in order to suppress the Ferranti effect of distribution lines.

SOLUTION: The capacitor at a consumer is released by a voltage relay, and the voltage circuit is disconnected out of a reactive integrating wattmeter installed at the consumer. For assurance, a current circuit is short-circuited.
