PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water stop member mounting structure which prevents excessive application of water pressure to a water stop member, and enhances the stability of water cut-off. SOLUTION: According to the water stop member mounting structure, a non-compressive water stop member (secondary water stop member 12) out of the water stop members arranged at a joint portion of an underground structure, is fastened to the joint portion by means of a fastening bolt 13 which is screwed from an inner space x of the underground structure via a spring 14 and a retaining plate 15 in this order from the side of a bolt head 13a, in a manner securing a clearance in the spring 14 so that further compression thereof is bearable. Thus even if an extremely large load (water pressure) is applied to the secondary water stop member 12, by compressing the spring 14, a channel that achieves drainage between the water stop member and a clamped surface 22a is produced, which leads to relief of the load.
