PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device capable of suppressing deformation of a holder member and ensuring an adequate operation. SOLUTION: In the steering device, an escape part 121d is formed on both ends of an edge part 121c of a holder member 121, and when a screw member 125 for adjustment is screwed with respect to a hollow pillar part 101c, and even when the holder member 121 is rotated via a coned disk spring 126, the edge part 121c is not abutted on an outer circumferential surface of a cylinder of a rack shaft 110, but the escape parts 121d on both ends are brought close thereto. The escape parts 121d are located on the distal side of an arc of the edge part 121c. Thus, the escape parts are not abutted on the rack shaft 110, and deformation of the holder member 121 can be suppressed. In addition, even when the rack shaft 110 is translated in a relatively large manner in the axial direction of a pinion 103, the rack shaft is not strongly abutted because the escape parts 121d are formed.
