PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body frame for a wheelchair compactly stored while adjusting a user's posture freely. SOLUTION: This body frame 10 for the wheelchair is provided with a main frame 11, a back frame 12 and a seat frame 13. The body frame 10 for the wheelchair is provided with a hinge mechanisms 31, 38, 53, 56 for realizing reclining, and a pair of cross members 15, 16 for realizing folding operation. The main frame 11 and the seat frame 13 are longitudinally divided in two parts by providing the hinge mechanisms 31, 38, 53, 56. The center of each of the hinge mechanisms 31, 38, 53, 56 exists on the same imaginary axis extended along a lateral direction.
