PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus for surely detecting polarity inversion due to the response of a notification destination to notify the contents of notification. SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with a confirmation communication control unit 108 for calling a predetermined opposite party using a line control unit 101 or a dial transmitter 102 to perform communication, a polarity inversion detector 105 for detecting the presence or absence of inversion of voltage polarity of a telephone line during performing communication, and a number converter 109 for setting dialing so that predetermined numbers are added to a telephone number to be dialed from now if the detector 105 does not detect the polarity inversion.
