METHOD OF MUCUS REMOVAL AND, USED THEREIN, CELL TREATMENT FLUID AND STORAGE FLUID

Mucus can be removed from cell surfaces so as to enable immunochemical labeling by bringing a cell treatment fluid containing a cysteine compound in an amount of 5 mass% or more into contact with a cell specimen containing mucus producing cells, such as uterine cervix cell. A cell storage fluid comprised of an aqueous solution of 30 to 60 mass% alcohol content and 5 mass% or more cysteine compound content can store cells while maintaining the state of cell dispersion without any influence on cell configuration during the period from specimen collection to analysis.
