<p>A liquid-crystal polyester resin which is constituted substantially of repeating units represented by the following formulae [I] to [IV] and has a melting point as measured with a differential scanning calorimeter of 190 to 250°C: wherein 0.4<=p/q<=2.0, 2<=r<=15, 2<=s<=15, and p+q+r+s=100. The liquid-crystal polyester resin is processable at low temperatures and has excellent mechanical properties.</p>
