PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sequentially generate image data with respect to each scan without enforcing a burden on a memory access or data generation matched with a skip scan or the like even if the number of scans is increased. SOLUTION: Printing data shaped on a scan basis is held in a page memory 4 in accordance with a scanning sequence, DMAC 5 transfers the printing data held according to the scan sequence, image data control sections 61 to 64 separate the printing data transferred on a scan basis, the printing data separated on a scan basis is held, printing data on a scan basis held in the memory is subjected to prescribed data conversion, and image data is generated.
