<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tissue puncture instrument for puncturing a tissue and boring a hole large enough for examination and treatment, and a biopsy system for sampling a sufficient quantity of the tissue for the examination. <P>SOLUTION: The tissue puncture instrument comprises an inner rod for puncturing the tissue and an outer barrel for inserting the inner rod. The inner rod is removed after the tissue is punctured, and another instrument is inserted into the tissue puncture instrument. The inner rod comprises a guide needle piercing in the longitudinal direction as a core, an obtuse tip, and a tapered part tapered by a predetermined length form the tip. The outer barrel has an opening for exposing the tapered part of the inner rod at the distal end, and is structured so that the surface of the tapered part of the inner rod and the outer surface of the outer barrel are the same plane when the inner rod is inserted into the outer barrel.
