PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas lighter capable of being narrowed in its lateral width direction y, improving the reliability in ignition by high voltage of a piezoelectric unit, and simplifying a supporting structure of an opening and closing cover. SOLUTION: In this gas lighter comprising a fuel tank 2, a fuel release valve device 25 for releasing a gas of the fuel from a nozzle, the piezoelectric unit 9 for igniting the released fuel, a center frame 3 with a gaslight supported by the fuel tank, and the opening and closing cover 6 covering at least an upper part of the gaslight of the center frame, the fuel tank has a left end support trunk 22 and a right end support trunk 21 respectively projecting upward integrally and continuously from upper end faces of left and right end parts in the lateral width direction, and projections 23, 24 projecting upward between the left end support trunk and the right end support trunk for rotatably supporting a gas release lever 11, the center frame has left end legs 35, 36 supported by the left end support trunk and extended downward and a right end leg 31 supported by the right end support trunk, the fuel release valve device is located between the left end support trunk and the projection, and the piezoelectric unit is located between the projection and the right end support trunk.
