PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type display device by which a user easily perform trapezoidal distortion correction when video distortion which occurs when an optical image is projected in the slanting vertical and horizontal directions to a screen is corrected. SOLUTION: A distortion correction part 3 which corrects the distortion of a projected video image 12 when a projection optical axis 2a is projected by making it slant to the screen 10, has an inclination angle generation part 31 which calculates an inclination angle of the projection optical axis 2a and a displayed video image correction part 32 which corrects a displayed video image 13 from the inclination angle generation part 31, the displayed video image correction part 32 is equipped with a two-dimensional table 321 which considers the inclination angle in the vertical direction and the inclination angle in the horizontal direction as variables and stores correction coordinates of four apexes of the displayed video image 13, a table reference part 322 which extracts the correction coordinates of the four apexes equivalent to the inclination angle and an immobile apex determination part 323 which considers any one of the four apexes as an immobile apex.
